Important updates for businesses: border opening and major changes coming to COVID-19 restrictions

Queensland’s border will open to all domestic visitors from this Monday 13 December – here is what you need to know.

Border changes:

  • Interstate visitors will be able to arrive from hotspots if they are fully vaccinated and have a negative COVID-19 test in the previous 72 hours. They can now arrive by both air and road and must also complete a COVID-19 test on day five after arriving.
  • There are currently no restrictions for domestic visitors arriving from non-hotspot areas.
  • International arrivals must go into home or hotel quarantine for 14 days, be fully vaccinated and return a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of departure.
  • All arrivals, no matter where from, must complete relevant entry declarations and abide by the public health directions in place at the time.

Update on tourism business operation – following South East Queensland lockdown (current 18 August 2021)

Queensland Health has provided the following guidance for tourism businesses operating under the additional restrictions currently in place. Further information on business operations for impacted areas is also here.

  • Tourism vehicles and vessels with up to 50 patrons do not have to follow occupant density requirements.

There are some allowances for certain types of tourism businesses (for example, tourism vehicles and vessels carrying 50 people or less) – specific advice from Queensland Health for these businesses is here.

You can keep on top of all the updates here, and information on Queensland’s COVID-19 hotspots is here.

Travel Safe – COVID-19

As an accredited Queensland Department of Transport Tour Operator, Coast to Hinterland Tours and its subsidiary Minibus Charter Sunshine Coast is adhering to the latest guidance from state and federal authorities.

Coast to Hinterland Tours and Minibus Charter Sunshine Coast has employed a heavy focus on hygiene and sanitation, all vehicles in the fleet undergo a thorough sanitary clean including deep clean of upholstery regularly.

Our vehicles are sanitised before and after each trip with particular attention paid to high contact areas – armrests, seatbelts, door handles and handrails. Whilst on tour or charter, sanitation is also done as often as every two hours during scheduled stops with a hospital-grade disinfectant effective against Coronaviruses killing 99.9% of germs.

An industry-specific COVID Safe Plan has been adopted by Coast to Hinterland Tours and Minibus Charter Sunshine Coast to assure that the company operate safely and can transport more passengers in our vehicles than outlined in “Queensland’s Roadmap to Easing Restrictions”

Current guidance for tour operator vehicles:

Tourism experiences may seat guests together during the tourism experience with eased social distancing (i.e. less than one person per four square metres and the 1.5m social distancing). This is a similar allowance to airlines. The physical distancing of 1.5m should be in place at all other times possible.

Customers will need to take personal responsibility and apply common sense to support social distancing measures More Info>>
